In late 60’s, already recognized in Japan, composer started experimenting with electronic music. He was also interested in new technologies and became one of founders of TAC Group – famous Shibuya-Tokyo studio of animation and computer graphics. Although composing orchestral music, he was active mainly on the field of music and sound effects production for animated movies. In 1955 after graduating history of art in Tokyo Keio University, he began working as composer of soundtracks for television movies and shows. I have Descendre (CD only, though) and it's excellent. I have Tomita's version of Holst's "The Planets" and also "Snowflakes Are Dancing" (Debussy done by Tomita.) Do you know Terje Rypdal? I think you might like him. I am pretty sure I know but was curious if anyone else would throw a guess up. Yes but I was asking if anyone could guess what the 2nd pic of the Tangerine Dream album is. I believe the inside of the Tomita cover is a very early Moog Synthesizer. Thanx SEAN68 for the comment and thanx Manikin Thanx racer4four & Oroyoroyisthatyourhorse. Complete with the 'chirping of chicks' sounds. This one is his rendition of 'Moussorgsky's' Pictures At An Exhibition. Many releases to his 40 yr career as well. He was influenced by Wendy Carlos(another great electronic composer). He pioneered work on the 'Moog' synthesizer. They have continued as a band contuinuously until now when we lost the founding member Edgar Froese. This album 'Rubycon' is when they were in their '70's' prime. Strangely without to many 'electronic' instruments on it though. Their first album was released in 1969, 'Electronic Meditation'. Considered the founders of electronic music. Some of you might know the 1st one or a least have heard of them. I am a big music fan and I am into a lot of electronic music also.
